உன் பெயரை மட்டும் மீண்டும் மீண்டும் அழைக்க வேண்டும்.

உன் கண்களை மட்டும் கால நேரம் தெரியாமல் பார்க்க வேண்டும்.

உன் கைகளை மட்டும் கடைசிவரை  பிடித்திருக்க வேண்டும்.

உன் காதுகளில் எப்போதும் உனக்கு மட்டும் கேட்பதுபோல் பேச வேண்டும்.

உன் சுவாசம் எப்போதும் என் கன்னம் சூடேற்ற வேண்டும்.

உன்னோடு நானிருக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு கணமும், உன் எண்ணம் உயிர் உள்ளவரை நிலைக்க வேண்டும்.

உனக்கு ஒரு நாள் முன்பே நான் இறக்க வேண்டும்.

நீயின்றி ஒரு நாளும் இல்லை என்று வாழ வேண்டும். 

காலையில் நீ விரும்பும் முதல் குரலாய் நான் இருக்க வேண்டும்.

இரவில் நீ பார்க்கும் கடைசி காட்சியாய் நான் இருக்க வேண்டும்.

நீ விரும்பும் அனைத்திலும் நானிருக்க வேண்டும்.

நீ வெறுக்கும் அனைத்தையும் நான் வெறுக்க வேண்டும்.

என்  கண்ணீர்  உன்  கரங்களால் காய வேண்டும்.

இது ஒரு உரசல்தான்!

என் இதயத்தை உரசிச் சென்ற ஓரிரு எண்ணங்களை
உங்களோடுதான் முதன் முதலாய் உரசிப் பார்க்கிறேன்.
என் கன்னங்கள் உரச வேண்டும் என நான் ஏங்கவில்லை ஆனால்
நம் எண்ணங்கள் உரசாமல் வெகு நாளாய் தூங்க வில்லை !
உரசும்போது பெருங்காயம் இல்லையென்றாலும் ஒன்றிரண்டு கீறல்களும் ஓராயிரம் தாக்கங்களும் உண்டு! உரசலின் தழும்பு உயிருள்ளவரை விடாது.

அன்றொரு நாள் அழகும் அசிங்கமும் அழகிய கடற்கரை மணலில் சந்தித்துக் கொண்டன. இருவரும் சேர்ந்து நீராடலாம் என ஏகமனதாய் ஒப்புக் கொண்டன. உடனே இருவரும் உடைகளை களைந்து உற்சாகமாய் நீராடத் தொடங்கினார்கள். ஓரிரு பொழுதில் 'அசிங்கம்' அவசரமாய் குளித்துத் தோட்டி கரையேறி அழகினுடைய ஆடைகளை அணிந்து 'அழகாய்' அதன் வழியே சென்று விட்டது.

அழகும் சிறிது நேரத்தில் கடலை விட்டு வந்து உடைகள் காணாது தவித்துப் போயிற்று. இருந்தாலும் அம்மணமாய் இருக்க அழகுக்கு 'அசிங்கமாய்' இருந்தது. அதனால் வேறு வழியில்லாமல் அழகானது அசிங்கத்தின் உடைகளை உடுத்திக் கொண்டு அதன் வழியே சென்றது.

இந்நாள் வரை இவ்வுலகில் வாழும் ஆண்களும் சரி பெண்களும் சரி அழகையும் அசிங்கத்தையும் ஒன்றுக்கொன்று தவறாகவே புரிந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.

இப்படியிருந்தாலும் அழகின் முகத்தை கண்ட ஒரு சிலர் கூட அதன் உடைகளை பார்த்து ஏமாந்தனர். அசிங்கத்தின் சொரூபத்தைக் கண்ட வெகு பலர் அதன் ஆடைகளின் அழகினால் கண்களை மறைத்துக் கொண்டனர்.
இவ்வுலகம் அலங்காரங்களையே அடையாளங்களாகப் பார்க்கின்றது. ஆனால் ஆதியில் இருந்தது போல் இப்பொழுதும் எப்போதும் என்றென்றும் இருப்பது அம்மணம் மட்டுமே!

அம்மணம் அசிங்கம் அல்ல, அங்கீகாரம்!

அம்மணம் மெய்!
போலிகளை கொண்டு மூடாதீர்கள்...
அம்மணம் மனித குலத்தின் ஆதி அலங்காரம்!
அம்மணம் ஆதாம் ஏவாளின் தேசிய உடை!

நாகரிகத் தாக்கத்தில் 'அவன், அவள்' என்னும் அடையாளச் சிக்கலை
அறவொடு நீக்க அம்மணம் பொதுவுடைமையாக்கப் படவேண்டும்!

அம்மணம் அசிங்கமா? அருவருப்பா? உயிர் என்னும் அருவத்திற்கு
உரு கொடுக்க இறைவன் எதைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தான்?
இரு அம்மணங்களின் அந்தரங்கத்தைதானே!

அம்மணம் அசிங்கமாயிருந்தால் இன்று திருமணங்கள் காணாமல் போயிருக்கும். அம்மணம் உடலுக்கு மட்டுமல்ல உள்ளத்துக்கும் தான்.

நமது அம்மணம் வினோதமாயிருக்கட்டும்!
உள்ளத்தின் அம்மணம் மறைத்தாலும் மறையாதிருக்கட்டும்!
உடலின் அம்மணம் திறந்தாலும் தெரியாதிருக்கட்டும்! 

We are our Choices

“Sometimes you make choices and sometimes choices make you” 

It might make you perplex but that’s the hard fact of life. We are the end product of our choices. One of the most incredible gifts provided to us is our Power to Choose. We utilize this power daily as we make choices about where we work, what we eat, the clothes we wear, when we go to bed, etc. Life doesn't give us what we want...life gives us what we choose for ourselves. The following story explicitly brings out the prime idea of this circular:

Five wise men got lost in the forest.
The first one said: I will go left – my intuition tells me that.
The second one said: I will go right – there is a reason why right comes from the word rightness.
The third one said: I will go back – we came from there, it means I will go out from the forest.
The fourth one said: I will go straight – we should move forward, the forest will end and something new will open.
The fifth said: You are all wrong. There is a better solution. Wait for me. 
He found the tallest tree and climbed into it. He climbed higher and saw the shortest way. He understood the problem and found the best solution! Was He the real Wise Man? No.
Everyone was right. 

The one who went left, found himself in the thicket. He had to starve and fight with wild animals. But he learned how to survive in the forest; he became a part of the forest and could teach others the same. 
The one who went right, met thieves. They took everything from him and made him steal with them. But after some time, he had woken up something in those thieves that they have forgotten – humanity and compassion. The remorse was so strong in some of them, that after his death they also became the wise men. 
The one who went back, made a pathway through the forest, which soon became a road for those who wanted to walk in the forest without being afraid of getting lost. 
The one who went straight, became a pioneer. He visited the places where no one else was and opened wonderful new possibilities for people, amazing healing plants and magnificent animals.
The one who climbed into the tree, became a specialist of finding short ways. People turned to him when they wanted to find the fastest way to deal with their problems, even if it didn’t lead to any development. 

This is how the five wise men reached their destiny.

We often wonder what choices we make in our lives. 

Our attitude is a choice.

Our happiness is a choice.

Our mindset is a choice.

To live on purpose or not is a choice.

To forgive is a choice.

To act is a choice.

Stretching our mind is a choice.

Honouring our self is a choice.

Listening to our intuition is our choice.

Paying attention to our bodies is a choice.

Our holidays are meant to test our own choices. We are left with multiple choices like T.V., Facebook, Twitter, Xbox, Serials, Channels, Sports, reading books, Video games, etc. If someone prefers, s/he could vile away his/her time sitting before the glowing idiot box or meddling with the online time killers all day through. Don Bosco rightly said, “An Idle mind is the Devil’s workshop” for he knows the young minds are so weak and fragile in making the choice against giant “time wasters”. It is the responsibility of each parent towards their ward to guide them in availing the possible ‘Character building and Skill developing’ choices that could make them equipped for the future.  

As we step towards the Holiday season, let’s keep in our minds: 

“Sometimes We make choices and sometimes choices make us”

Let me start by asking you a simple question.

By the way, Have you noticed anything spectacular about these words? 

When someone says Hurry, have you ever realised this word was coined or invented by William Shakespeare? Similarly, words like boredom, disgraceful, hostile, money’s worth, obscene, puke, perplex, on purpose, these words were also invented by William Shakespeare. Until his time, people were talking without these words, can you imagine?

Yeah… I could hear some of my boys telling it is the book I teach everyday.

Perhaps the most uninteresting book ever written is The calculation of pi to two million places, in 800 pages.

The world's most expensive book ever purchased was bought by Bill Gates at auction for $30.8 million dollars.

The title of the book is Codex Leicester by Leonard da Vinci.

The most expensive book is The Task by Tomas Alexander Hartmann. It has a value by the author for 153 million euros. That's about 213 million U.S. dollars. And the kicker, it's only 13 pages long.

Every published book is assigned a unique 10-digit ISBN (International Standard Book Number).

The final digit of any ISBN is included as a way for computers to make an instant check for incorrectly entered numbers.The check works like this: you multiply the first digit by 10, the second by 9, the third by 8 and so on until you reach the final, tenth digit, which is multiplied by 1 and thus stays unchanged.Then you add all the answers together. The total will always, if no mistake has been made, be divisible by 11. For example, the ISBN (International Standard Book Number (ISBN) of the first edition of Jon-Stephen Fink's book Cluck! Isn’t it interesting to talk about books?

But a recent survey in 2012 tells that 54% of children said they preferred watching TV for reading.

It is really saddening to watch children fall prey to

-          TV which is just 89 years old.

-          Internet which is just 32 years old

-          Facebook is still a minor celebrated its 10^th birthday last week Feb 4^th.

Get into the world of Books and develop the habit of reading. The worst crime than burning a book is not reading them.

TV is called an Idiot box not because it is an idiot but it makes us idiots. It doesn’t allow us to think, imagine, construct  but only watch it with mouth wide open.

Facebook is like a Fridge. Even if you know there’s nothing inside, you still open it every five minutes.

Yes, I find TV very educating, when someone switches on the TV, I go to my room shut myself and start reading a book, says Groucho Marx.

As I leave you, I leave this message with you:

I think of life as a good book. The further you get into it, the more it begins to make sense.

Keep aside your TV set and rather install a book shelf in its place and start reading.

Without Books, we have No History and No Future.
